About the Club

Susquehanna Valley Camaro Club was established to provide fellowship among members and as an outlet for Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts to organize and associate with like-minded car enthusiasts.  We strive to preserve, restore, and maintain the Camaro/Firebird and its history.  This includes Camaros and Firebirds of all styles: stock, restored, original, and modified, manufactured from 1967 to present.

CAmaro of the Month

Picture
Camaro of the Month for November is owned by Mike Colen.

I purchased the car on August 8, 1998 for $2500.00, from the nephew of a high school friend. My goal was to make it a driver.  The car had some body modifications but had new quarter panels already installed. The car was painted a dark gray.  I replaced every body panel except the hood the roof the quarter panels and the floor pan. I had the car painted its factory original Fathom Green color. I had the white rally stripes and SS badging for my first 69 camaro which was an original SS big block car from Baldwin motion. Unfortunately that car was totaled. After moving to York, I upgraded with a four wheel disc brake conversion and 2 inch Eibach front springs. Last year upgraded to Holley Sniper EFI. Ended up installing new Chevy 350, 350 horsepower along with it. It’s mated to a turbo 350 and a Chevy 10 bolt rearend with 3,08 posi. Which is believed to be original to the car. I’ve put about 1500 miles on the new motor, thanks to the Susquehanna Valley Camaro and Firebird Club. It’s still a work in progress. I need to restore the interior, but it’s finally at the point where it is a reliable driver

Mike was awarded a $15 gift card from Scoops as the November Camaro of the Month.  After all, it's about Smiles Per Gallon, not Miles Per Gallon.
