About the Club
Susquehanna Valley Camaro Club was established to provide fellowship among members and as an outlet for Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts to organize and associate with like-minded car enthusiasts. We strive to preserve, restore, and maintain the Camaro/Firebird and its history. This includes Camaros and Firebirds of all styles: stock, restored, original, and modified, manufactured from 1967 to present.
CAmaro of the MonthCamaro of the Month for May is owned by Tonya and Brad Wenger.
How my 2024 Panther Collector's Edition RS came to live in my garage, starts with a Facebook post by Whitmoyer Chevrolet. They posted they were getting one in soon, which was November 2023. I made a mental note, did a little investigating of what the collector's edition meant and then kind of forgot about it. Something triggered my memory, AND I was trying to get my dad to buy his first brand new Chevy pick up! I texted the contact at the dealership and the Panther had just come in. So, my dad and I made a trip to go "see" it and look at what trucks they had available. The Panther Black Metallic paint did not disappoint and I fell in love with all of it! One problem, I already had 2 Camaros that I loved too! My first Camaro, a 2010 RS that I was second owner of in 2013 when I graduated from my Chrysler Pacifica station wagon "Mom car". And, my impulse purchase 1968 327 RS that I bought on a handshake at LCBC in 2016 that I later found out was Leon and Brenda Good's long loved baby. I sold the 2010 to a nice young man who knew his first car had to be a Camaro. Then sold the '68 to a guy from Long Island who came down on a Sunday morning to take it home and surprise his wife for her Christmas present! The Panther and a new 2024 Chevy Silverado were purchased the same night at Whitmoyer with smiles on mine and my dad's faces! The Panther is one of 2,000 made, 350 of which have the ZL1 engine and different paint. I did receive a welcome kit which had two double sided commemorative posters to display and letter. Thanks for reading! Tonya was awarded a $15 gift card from Scoops as the May Camaro of the Month. While this applies to all our cars, it is especially fitting for Bruce and Tracy's 1969 Orange Camaro!
