About the Club

Susquehanna Valley Camaro Club was established to provide fellowship among members and as an outlet for Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts to organize and associate with like-minded car enthusiasts. We strive to preserve, restore, and maintain the Camaro/Firebird and its history. This includes Camaros and Firebirds of all styles: stock, restored, original, and modified, manufactured from 1967 to present.

Purchased at Jack Giambolvo Mazda in November of 2020 with 3,000 miles.

Currently has around 20,000 miles.

Was originally intended to be a daily, but a couple months after purchase, due to the passing of my mother, I inherited her car, so it became my hobby car. I would estimate 5,000 to 7,000 of the 20,000 miles came from those few months.

Been a Camaro fan all my life, leased a 2012 new for a few years as my daily, and knew after that car I would definitely be getting another.

Cathy Hoshauer - 1967 SS, 2011 Convertible 2SS/RS, 1984 Z-28

We became "Camaro people" with the purchase of the Red 1967 Camaro SS, V-8, 383 Stroker sometime around 2010. We added power steering, power brakes and A/C and RaceKrafters has done lots of other modifications to it over the years. When Chevy announced that they were going to bring back the Camaro in 2010, we were excited, especially when we saw the body style was more reminiscent of the first generation Camaro. We really wanted a convertible, so we had to wait until 2011. It was a rainy day in March and we spied the Inferno Orange convertible, 2SS/RS sitting up on the hill at a dealership. We immediately drove in and bought it!

Ken was at a car show (or 2) every weekend from April to October with the '67 and would occasionally join him in the convertible. At one particular car show, he bought a $25 raffle ticket to support Lonnie, the owner of Customs Classics who had suffered a stroke. Ken won the raffle with the prize being a 327 Chevy Performance engine built and donated by RaceKrafters! It was unbelievable! Of course the $25 engine needed a car, so Ken first found a "roller", a 1977 Pontiac Firebird with a rollbar and racing slicks and absolutely nothing under the hood. He had it towed to RaceKrafters but it was too rusted to use. In 2019, we found the 1984 Z-28 which was rust-free and it still ran! Pete Hegeman trailered it to our house and the restorations began....and then COVID happened. We were able to get it repainted the Daytona Yellow that you see (a 1974 Corvette color) and eventually, all the parts arrived. Remember those pesky "supply chain" issues? After 4 more years, it was finally ready to be picked up. We were so excited until RaceKrafters called to report that when they put the "raffle" engine on the dyno, they found a crack in the engine block. They offered to replace it with a 350 Chevy engine, or we could invest "a little more" and get a 383! And let's go ahead and put in electronic fuel injection to make it run smooth as silk. How could we say "no"?! We finally were able to bring it home in August of 2024. On our first outing in the Z-28, the brand new transmission died. Just died. RaceKrafters replaced it for free! But it meant months longer without our "new" ride. It was well worth the wait. Ken loved driving that car! Possibly even more than his '67, his baby.
